Andy Murray has yet to decide if he is fit enough to play at Wimbledon, but fans have been queueing since Saturday for the chance to see the Scot play in what could be his last singles game at SW19.

The twice former champion, 37, had surgery nine days ago to remove a cyst on his spine and revealed at a press conference on Sunday that he did not yet have “100%” feeling in his right leg.

Spoof ads with tennis players appear near club in protest against sponsor’s ties to fossil fuels and arms companies

Hundreds of ads on commercial billboards, the tube and bus shelters near Wimbledon have been replaced with artwork taking aim at the tournament’s sponsorship with Barclays over its ties to fossil fuels and companies supplying arms to Israel.

Tournament organisers have come under pressure to drop the bank as a sponsor by climate groups and anti-war activists who accuse Barclays of using the event to “cover up its role” in funding the climate crisis and to “hide from accountability for its role in enabling Israel’s war crimes”.

Anish Kapoor among artists featuring in youth vote billboard campaign

Exclusive: Gruffalo illustrator Axel Scheffler also contributes drawing encouraging young people to vote

Leading artists including Anish Kapoor, Katharine Hamnett and the Gruffalo illustrator Axel Scheffler have created artwork to be installed on billboards across the UK as part of a drive to encourage young people to vote in the general election.

The campaign, titled Art to the Polls, features pieces that vary in style and tone but are united in their message to young people: vote. A pair of colourful pieces by Jon Burgerman calls voting an “act of self-caring” and tells young people not to “become [their] parents”, who are represented as sad faces.

British hiker found dead in Pyrenees mountains after four-day search

Spanish Guardia Civil says 70-year-old man discovered by rescue team near Aspe peak in western Pyrenees

A 70-year-old British hiker has been found dead in the Pyrenees mountains four days after disappearing.

The man, who was from London, went missing on Monday. He was discovered in the mountain range by a rescue team on Thursday at around 1pm, the Spanish Guardia Civil said.

Vernon Kay uses CDs to keep BBC Radio 2 show going after technical issue

Presenter forced to improvise after track cuts out because of computer system failure

“Please don’t stop the music,” Rihanna once sang. On Thursday, producers at BBC Radio 2 scrambled to oblige as Vernon Kay was forced to use CDs to play music on the station after its digital system failed.

The radio presenter, 50, was playing Won’t Get Fooled Again by The Who towards the end of his show when the issue occurred. At about 11.30am, the track cut out and he came back on air laughing. He said: “This has never happened to me, where the computer system has just failed.”

CPS says woman had epileptic seizure at wheel and had no prior diagnosis of medical condition

A woman who crashed her Land Rover into a preparatory school and killed two eight-year-old girls will not be charged after it was found she had an epileptic seizure at the wheel.

Nuria Sajjad and Selena Lau, both eight, were killed when a Land Rover Defender crashed through the fence of the Study Prep school in Wimbledon last July. The school was holding an end-of-year tea party at the time.
